PDLegal has been recognised at the Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific Awards 2026, with ByBit Fintech Limited v Ho Kai Xin [2023] SGHC 199 and others named one of the Impact Cases of the Year. The Impact Cases of the Year recognises the region's most significant and influential disputes, highlighting matters that have shaped legal precedent and had a lasting impact on the development of the law.
The novelty of ByBit Fintech Ltd v Ho Kai Xin is that the Singapore High Court finally decided (rather than find at an interim stage), that crypto assets such as USDT are property capable of being held on trust. This was significant because it was the first common law decision to finally recognise that a crypto-asset holder has an incorporeal property right enforceable in court (rather than find at an interim stage).
Led by Gerard Quek, with Mato Kotwani and Glenn C., the matter resulted in a landmark ruling that is helping to shape Singapore's digital asset jurisprudence.
We also recognise the valuable contributions of our ex-colleagues Kyle Gabriel Peters and Daniel Ling, who were also counsels on this significant ruling.
Congratulations to everyone involved on this well-deserved recognition.
