M Law Acts as Borrowers’ Counsel on Landmark Php 2.786 Billion Digital Halo Data Centre Financing

M Law is pleased to share that the firm has acted as counsel for Digital Halo, a Singapore-based data center operator backed by the Partners Group, in connection with the Php 2.786-Billion project financing for Digital Halo’s MNL1 IT Data Centre.

Signed on 13 January 2026, this loan facility marks the first data center project financing in the Philippines—a landmark development for the country’s digital infrastructure and project finance market.

Congratulations to the borrowers group, as well as to RCBC as sole lender, RCBC Trust Corporation as facility agent and security trustee, and RCBC Capital Corporation as mandated lead arranger on successfully closing this pioneering transaction.

M Law’s Atty. Julio P.G. Bucoy was invited to serve as a resource speaker for the “SEC Enforcement and Market Oversight Training Program (EMOTP)”, a collaboration between the University of the Philippines College of Law – Institute of Government and Law Reform (IGLR), and the Securities and Exchange Commission Philippines (SEC).

Atty. Bucoy provided insights on the topic “Market Manipulation, Insider Trading, and Other Financial Crimes under the Securities Regulation Code” on August 14 and 27, 2025. Participants were officers and personnel of the SEC involved in capital markets and securities regulation.

Atty. Bucoy also lectures on Securities Markets and Regulations at the FINEX Academy, the training arm of the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX) and heads M Law’s Banking and Capital Markets Practice Group.
