As we celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month this October, CSN Center Parañaque invites all parents and primary caregivers to join our Coping Strategies & Self-Care Workshop Series — a meaningful opportunity to prioritize your mental well-being, learn practical coping strategies, and strengthen your ability to care for yourself and your family.

Meet Fourth Jambalos, an athlete-leader of Special Olympics Pilipinas, as he passionately voices his appeal on behalf of athletes with intellectual disabilities.

His message is simple yet powerful: Give us the opportunity to be included, to play sports, and to participate!

Fourth is appealing to the City Government of Parañaque to say YES to hosting the upcoming Special Olympics Asia Pacific 3x3 Basketball Competition, a meaningful opportunity to champion inclusion, celebrate abilities, and demonstrate that sports belong to everyone.

PARAÑAQUE CITY: A HOME FOR INCLUSIVE SPORTS!

The CSN Center Paranaque was honored to join the courtesy meeting with the Parañaque City Government, represented by Ms. Eva Nono on behalf of Mayor Edwin L. Olivarez , together with YSDO Head Alex Dandan, in support of the upcoming Special Olympics Asia Pacific 3x3 Basketball Competition, to be held in the Philippines from December 5–9, 2026 at Paranaque Coliseum.

The meeting was attended by Philippine Sports Commission Commissioner Walter Francis K. Torres, Special Olympics Pilipinas National Chairman, Akiko Thomson-Guevarra, and the delegation, including SNED student-athletes and youth advocacy leaders. The initiative is being undertaken in partnership with Special Olympics Pilipinas, led by National Director Mr. Armand Anthony Galicia, and CSN Center Parañaque, which continues to champion inclusive sports and opportunities for children and youth with special needs.

With the theme “Different Abilities, One Winning Spirit,” this regional competition is expected to bring together approximately 400 delegates from 12 countries across the Asia-Pacific region. Adding to the excitement, two teams from Parañaque National High School will represent the Philippines in this prestigious competition!

CSN Center Parañaque is proud to be part of this milestone that celebrates the abilities, determination, and sportsmanship of athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We look forward to showcasing Parañaque City as a host city for this regional gathering and strengthening our commitment to a more inclusive and empowered community.

THE CSN Center Paranaque extends its heartfelt gratitude to Save the Children Philippines for organizing the “From National Mandate to Local Action: Policy Writeshop for an Integrated and Inclusive ECCD System.”

Thank you for providing a valuable platform for local government representatives and STAKEHOLDERS from Paranaque, Taguig & Pateros to share insights, strengthen partnerships, and work together toward a more inclusive and responsive Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) system.

We look forward to translating the knowledge and insights gained into meaningful local actions that will help ensure that every child, including children with disabilities and developmental delays, has access to inclusive, quality, and responsive services.

The Mental Health Awareness Month activities continue at CSN Center Parañaque with Batch 2 of the Coping Strategies Workshop for parents and caregivers raising children with special needs.

This session provides a safe and supportive space for caregivers to learn practical coping strategies, nurture their emotional well-being, and strengthen their resilience as they navigate the challenges and joys of caregiving.

At CSN Center Parañaque, we believe that caring for our caregivers is an essential part of caring for our children. Because when caregivers are supported and empowered, families grow stronger together.
