Closing a company doesn’t automatically remove all liabilities. Certain obligations, such as debts or legal responsibilities, can still remain with directors or shareholders. Understanding what stays after closure can protect you from unexpected claims.

Many believe that starting a company fully protects personal assets. But that isn’t always true. Directors and shareholders can still be liable in certain situations, especially if there’s negligence or breaches of law. Knowing the limits of protection is crucial.

💬 Did you know that companies aren’t always a shield for personal assets? Comment “Yes” or “No”

Many family businesses start informally without clear share divisions. Over time, this can lead to conflicts, misunderstandings, or even legal disputes. Formalizing shareholdings early can save families from complicated problems later.

💬 Comment if your family business has unclear ownership & have you experienced disputes?

You spent years building your audience growing 50K followers, landing brand deals, earning ad revenue.
It becomes your income, your identity, your digital asset.

But here’s the uncomfortable question no one talks about:
If something happens to you… who actually owns your account?
Who controls the content? Who gets the money?

Because without proper planning, everything you built could be locked, lost or tied up in legal confusion.

Your content isn’t just content anymore, it’s a business.
And every business needs a plan for what happens next.

In family-owned companies, inheritance or rights are not automatic. Ownership depends on formal agreements, share registration, and legal documentation. Knowing your position legally is key to protecting your interests.

You are gone.

Your family is grieving, trying to process the loss… but at the same time, reality starts immediately. Death certificate. Funeral arrangements. Calling banks. Accounts frozen. Bills still running. Mortgage still due. Questions nobody knows how to answer.

Where is the will?
Who is the executor?
Which bank accounts exist?
Whose name is the property under?

Without proper planning, families can spend months, sometimes years dealing with courts, paperwork, legal fees, and frozen assets while still trying to heal.

This happens to thousands of Malaysian families every year.

A will does not remove grief. But it can remove confusion, delays, and unnecessary suffering.

You cannot control when you go.
But you can control what you leave behind.

21.04.2026 | Good News for Malaysian Businesses | E-Invoice Deadline Extended to 31.12.2027
The Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD) has officially announced that the implementation of the mandatory e-invoice system has been postponed to 31 December 2027.
This extension applies to businesses that have yet to fully comply with the e-invoice requirements under the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN).
The e-invoice initiative was first introduced as part of Malaysia's effort to modernise its tax administration system and improve transparency in business transactions. Under the system, all invoices issued between businesses must be submitted and validated digitally through the MyInvois platform.
However, recognising the challenges faced by many businesses particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in adapting to the new system, the government has decided to grant additional time for full compliance.
This means businesses now have more time to:
— Set up and integrate their accounting systems
— Train their staff on the new e-invoice process
— Ensure their systems are fully compatible with the MyInvois platform
This is a welcome relief for many business owners who have been struggling to meet the original deadline.
If you need further advice on e-invoice compliance, business transactions, or any legal matters relating to your company, feel free to reach out to us.

When a boss runs away, it’s not just about leaving the office behind, it means leaving unpaid taxes, outstanding EPF/SOCSO, supplier debts, rental commitments, legal liabilities and years of financial responsibilities unresolved. Many people think closing a business is as simple as walking away, but the reality is every company owner still has obligations to settle. The moment a boss disappears, the real questions begin: who pays the taxes, who answers the authorities and who takes responsibility for everything left behind?

Writing a will sounds simple.

Until one mistake changes everything.

Under the Wills Act 1959, even small errors can make your will invalid.

And when that happens,
your wishes don’t matter anymore.
