Stamp Duty Penalty Amnesty – Deadline 30 June 2026

If you have documents signed between 2023 and 2025 that have not been stamped, this is an important reminder.

The Inland Revenue Board is currently offering a penalty waiver programme — late stamping penalties will be automatically waived if payment is made before 30 June 2026.

Now is a good time to review any outstanding agreements and ensure compliance.

从 2026年1月1日 起,外国买家的印花税将从4%提高到8%!

无论是购买房产或完成分層地契产权转(perfection of strata title),將採用新的价格/稅率。

这意味着:
✅ 若在 2025年12月31日之前完成转名/转让手续,可节省数千或万令吉!
✅ 若您的地契已经发出,现在是分層地契产权转让的最佳时机。
✅ 2026年后,同一房产的转让成本将翻倍。

📍 把握时机,在2025年前完成手续,避免多付印花税。

Foreign Buyers — Important Update!

Starting 1 January 2026, the stamp duty on transfer for non-citizens (excluding Malaysian permanent residents) and foreign-registered companies purchasing residential properties in Malaysia will increase from 4% to 8%.

This new rate applies to both:
• Transfer of residential property purchases, and
• Perfection of strata titles for residential property (transfer of ownership after the strata title has been issued).

What this means for you:
✅ Complete your transfer or perfection of title before 31 December 2025 to save thousands of ringgit.
✅ If your strata title has been issued, now is the best time to complete perfection.
✅ From 2026 onwards, the same transaction will be subject to double the duty.

Act early — complete your residential property transfer before 2025 ends to avoid paying the higher 8% rate.
