🙌 Some example termination clauses written by students revising vocabulary from Unit 10 in The Lawyer's English Language Course book in preparation for their TOLES exams.

👏👏Great job!

🤖We integrated ChatGPT into the exercise and it was interesting to see and discuss the feedback it gave.

Do you know the phrasal verb ‘to carry out’?
📖 Meaning: "To carry out" means to perform or execute a task or duty. It is widely used in legal contexts.
For example:
1. The police carried out an investigation.
2. We need to carry out a compliance review to check compliance with GDPR.
3. This week we are carrying out due diligence for the buyer in a share purchase agreement.
💡 My tip for you is to replace "do" with "carry out" for a more professional legal tone! Leave a comment with your own sentence using carry out!

Today, I'm reaching out with a special request: Snap a picture of yourself with our book to help with our award nomination. 😍

As some of you know, Practical English Language Skills for Lawyers was published last year, and Natasha and I have been blown away by the positive response we've received. Last year, we were awarded the Global Legal Skills Award and this year we are submitting an application for the ELTONS which recognises innovation in English language teaching.

To make this nomination truly special and to showcase the real impact of our book, we would love to feature our readers. Here's how you can help:

Snap a picture of yourself with Practical English Language Skills for Lawyers (the online or hard copy version is fine!). It can be an action shot of the book in use (be as creative as you like 😅) or a simple selfie.

Post it on social media and share it with me. Feel free to share what the book means to you in your post!

Alternatively, email us: [email protected] and [email protected].

🕑The deadline: 28th March 2024.

Your photos and stories will really enrich our nomination - I can't wait to see them! 😁

🎄Christmas seems so long ago now, but as I’ve been a bit slow getting back to social media I wanted to post about something which put a huge smile on my face over the Christmas period. 🤗

❤️I received a very special gift (an originally designed podcast mug, some chocolates and post-its) and a lovely message from one of my students and podcast listeners - Regiane Gurski.

💪🌟 One of the most rewarding things about being a podcaster and teacher is being able to help people on their legal English learning journey. I really appreciate this lovely message, thank you Regiane! 🥰
