Can you get divorced in Ireland without paying thousands in solicitor fees?

For couples whose separation is agreed and relatively straightforward, a DIY divorce in Ireland may be a suitable option.

You still need to follow the formal court process, prepare the correct documents and show that the legal requirements for divorce have been met. This includes living apart for at least two of the previous three years, having no reasonable prospect of reconciliation and making proper provision for both spouses and any dependent children.

Yes, you can – as long as you meet the residency requirements. You or your spouse need to be living in Ireland at the time of the application, or be domiciled here. It doesn't matter where the wedding took place.
