THE MISSING FULL-STOP

Recently, CFI observed a letter from the Companies Registration Office (CRO) drawing attention to a missing full stop in a legal document. Here’s what the CRO said:

“Unfortunately, there is a typographical error in the name of company for which the Bond is covering as a full-stop has been omitted after the initial F in the name of the company. The CRO Register has over 750,000 companies and some can be similarly named, so while returning a bond for a small omission such as a full-stop may seem harsh it is on a legal document and actually every character within a company name is very important.”
