New service alert at Valla đź‘€

If you're taking on an employer by yourself, you've probably already spent hours researching, drafting, rewriting, and second guessing every sentence.

You've used ChatGPT or Claude or Gemini. You've searched tribunal guidance, you've read articles, forums, and tribunal decisions late into the evening.

And eventually you get to the point where your document is ready to send.

But then a new worry starts to bubble.

What if I've missed something?

For litigants in person, that feeling is incredibly common.

Using AI to draft an ET1, grievance, witness statement, or settlement response is a smart place to start, as it can help you organise your thoughts, understand the process, and save both time and money.

But AI doesn't know your story.

It doesn't know which facts are most important. It can't always spot inconsistencies, missing details or the nuances that can make a difference in your case.

That's where human expertise matters.

We've launched Document Review at Valla so you can get a second pair of expert eyes on the documents you've worked so hard to prepare.

Upload your draft and one of our 20 SRA-authorised legal experts will review it using tracked changes, highlighting what needs attention and explaining why.

Because after everything you've already been through, you shouldn't be left wondering whether a preventable mistake could weaken your case.

You've already done the hard work of building your claim. Now make sure your documents tell your story as clearly and effectively as possible.

Many of our legal experts have availabilities from as early as 8am tomorrow, with some offering weekend appointments too.

And because legal support shouldn't be out of reach, we've kept it affordable with a review starting from ÂŁ22.50.

If this resonates with you or you think someone you know could benefit from this; You can find out more here: https://app.valla.uk/direct-to/document-review

âť“"I've come back from maternity leave and my role has changed. Is that even allowed?"

It's a common question we hear and the answer is more complicated than many realise.

If you've returned to work after having a baby and found your responsibilities reduced, your hours changed, your team reassigned, or your role looking very different from the one you left, you're not alone.

Many people assume employers can make these changes as part of "business needs" but that's not always the case.

Pregnancy and maternity discrimination can be difficult to spot, especially when it's explained as "restructuring", "flexibility", or "organisational change".

We want to help you understand some of the most common misconceptions about your rights at work during pregnancy and after maternity leave. That's why we've created a free guide explaining what the law says, common warning signs, and what you can do next.

You can check it out here: https://valla.uk/guides/what-counts-as-pregnancy-discrimination-in-2026

If someone keeps denying conversations, twisting facts, or is making you question what really happened.. It could be more than miscommunication.

It could be gaslighting.

One of the simplest ways to protect yourself at work? Keep contemporaneous notes.

Recording key details as events happen, can help you keep track of what's happened previously, keep your mind clear and help you build a reliable timeline, especially if a workplace dispute escalates.

Pregnancy and maternity leave should never put your career at risk.

Since 2024, UK employees have been entitled to enhanced redundancy protection from the moment they notify their employer of their pregnancy until 18 months after birth.

Yet many people still aren't aware of this important protection.

It's why we've created an updated Pregnancy & Maternity Rights Guide for 2026. So you can get clear, practical information on your rights at work before, during and after maternity leave.

12.4 MILLION workplace rights violations are estimated to happen every year in the UK.
Yet only 44,400 tribunal claims were lodged in 2024-2025.

What an injustice.

We're still seeing many workers who don’t know what their rights are. Who come to us asking questions if what they experienced was unlawful. Who are searching for answers in between their working hours and personal life on how to access support when something doesn't feel quite right at work.

And the individual stories the Valla team hears impacts us deeply. These 1.4 million labour violations aren't just numbers. These 44,400 tribunal claims aren't just statistics. They're real people across the UK who are currently going through a really hard time.

But we want these numbers to change!!

When employees don’t understand their rights, unfair treatment can often go unchallenged and injustice becomes normalised.

And one of the most important ways we can help shift these numbers is by providing meaningful support to UK workers. We're here to give employees access to clear information, provide expert guidance through the tribunal process, and clarity in Plain English about their rights both before and after something goes wrong at work.
Because we see that workers are far more empowered to speak up and seek help when they know what's going on.

These numbers comes from our report on the State of Workplace Rights in England, Scotland and Wales 2025.

Speaking up at work can cost people their job, confidence, reputation...
And that’s exactly why so many employees stay silent.

But these tribunal decisions prove something important 👇

🏆 Whistleblowers can win.

Every case featured in this carousel is a real UK whistleblowing tribunal decision where an employee spoke up, stood their ground, and won.

And none of these were easy battles, but they highlight some powerful truths:

đź’ˇ Whistleblowing protections are real
💡 You don't need 2 years’ service to be protected
đź’ˇ Employers can still be held accountable for indirect or delayed retaliation

If you’re currently questioning whether to speak up...
Wondering if anyone would believe you, or whether retaliation would follow…

Please read these cases.

They’re proof that your concerns are valid, your rights matter, and justice is possible.

We’ve also created a guide breaking down these whistleblowing cases in more details, including the legal principles behind the decisions and what employees can learn from them.
