What an honour to attend the opening of Embassy Village MCR this week, where we heard from Co‑Founder and Director Sid Williams, James Whittaker, Tim Heatley, Ian Armstrong and Bev Craig as they each reflected on the incredible journey that has brought Embassy Village to this moment - and the vision for its future. ✨
Standing alongside so many organisations united behind this incredible project marked a very special milestone as the Village prepares to welcome its first residents in the coming weeks.
Embassy Village will provide 40 high‑quality, purpose‑built homes beneath 20 railway arches in Castlefield, giving residents stability, long‑term support and opportunities to get back into work.
Built along the Bridgewater Canal, the Village will also offer communal gardens, sports facilities and a village hall delivering practical life‑skills training - from cooking and budgeting to workplace readiness.
Commenting on the evening Hayley Sullivan said; ‘Seeing Sid’s vision come to life is so inspiring. As soon as Adam Posner introduced us to Sid and Embassy Village, we knew we wanted to lend our support. This project embodies the very best of Manchester - its can-do attitude, strength of community and forward-thinking spirit, and we are very proud to be playing our part.’
The story of how this project came together - the power of collective action, shared purpose, and Sid’s unwavering commitment to long‑lasting change - is remarkable. In his own words last night: ‘The stage is set. This isn’t the finish line. The journey continues.’
We look forward to walking this journey with you, Sid, and the entire EV team. 🤝
