Canada Express Entry Draw 447: 3,500 ITAs Issued at CRS 476
Canada Express Entry Draw 447 provides yet another avenue for skilled trades individuals to immigrate to Canada. On October 1, 2026, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) drew 3,500 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) based on a selection process that is based on categories of applicants where those falling under Trades Occupations category were selected. This draw involved a minimum CRS score of 476.

Saskatchewan reports 76% of SINP nominations used and updates processing times
Saskatchewan has released updated 2026 Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) statistics and processing times. The province has issued 4,023 nominations out of its total allocation of 5,261, using 76% of its annual quota. Priority sectors have used 2,865 of 3,946 allocated spaces, or 73%, while capped sectors, trucking, accommodation, food services and retail trade, have used 1,158 of their maximum 1,315 spaces, reaching 88% of the cap. The province also published third-quarter processing times. Applications under the Employment Offer Stream, Innovation and Tech Talent Pathway, Agriculture Talent Pathway and Health Talent Pathway averaged two weeks. The Existing Work Permit and International Students streams under the Saskatchewan Experience category also averaged two weeks.

Prime Minister signals future controlled increase in Canada’s population growth

Government of Canada invests $1.2 million to support Francophone immigration projects across three provinces
The Government of Canada announced an investment of approximately $1.2 million through the Francophone Immigration Support Program to strengthen Francophone minority communities and support the attraction and retention of Francophone talent. Announced in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, the funding supports new initiatives in Newfoundland and Labrador, Saskatchewan, and Northern Ontario. The Newfoundland and Labrador project will create a sustainable recruitment corridor for Francophone and bilingual talent, targeting sectors such as health care, education, and early childhood education. In Saskatchewan, a new initiative will connect labour market needs with international Francophone talent through recruitment missions, pre-selection tools, and support for credential recognition.

Canada conducted a new PNP draw under Express Entry and invited 733 candidates
On September 28, 2026, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held Express Entry draw #445 for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates. The Government of Canada issued 733 Invitations to Apply (ITAs), and the round’s cut-off score was 725 points, nine points fewer than in the previous PNP-targeted draw. The tie-breaking rule for this round was September 17, 2026, at 01:36:17 UTC. As of September 27, 229,904 profiles were registered in the Express Entry pool. This was the 19th PNP-targeted draw of 2026, bringing total invitations issued to provincial nominees this year to 9,270.

Saskatchewan charges Regina trucking employer under foreign worker recruitment legislation
Escalade Transportation Inc. and Hafiz Tariq Ayub face three charges each under Section 22 of Saskatchewan's Foreign Worker Recruitment and Immigration Services Act for alleged violations occurring between November 2022 and August 2023. The Regina-based employer is accused of distributing false or misleading information, misrepresenting job duties, pay, and terms of employment, and taking unfair advantage of foreign workers' fear or lack of experience. Newfoundland and Labrador conducted new draws under the NLPNP and AIP
On September 18, 2026, Newfoundland and Labrador held the 15th round of selection through the Enhanced Expression of Interest (EOI) system, issuing a total of 62 invitations. Of these, 61 were sent to candidates under the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP), while only one went to applicants through the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP). Last year, Newfoundland and Labrador invited a total of 3,376 applicants under the NLPNP and AIP. So far, the province has invited 2,654 candidates in 2026.

Prince Edward Island conducted the 9th PEI PNP draw of 2026
On September 17, 2026, Prince Edward Island conducted 2026's 9th invitation round under the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP). This draw was the second-largest invitation round of 2026. PEI issued 195 invitations to apply (ITAs) to candidates working in priority sectors based on economic impact in PEI. The province prioritized candidates with employment offers from PEI-based organizations and international graduates from recognized institutions, including UPEI, Holland College, and Collège de l'Île.

BCPNP conducted a new draw under the rural health initiative
On September 17, 2026, the Government of British Columbia held a new invitation round under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP). The province issued 33 invitations to apply to candidates through the Temporary Rural/Remote Health Support Initiative. The invited candidates had a minimum score of 60 points. This targeted stream supports health authority employees in eligible cleaning and security roles who work in rural or remote communities across the province.
