ROUG LIFE’s a Beach 🌴☀️

This trip was exactly what the three of us needed.

Reece’s confidence in literally everything right now seems to be growing exponentially, and this vacation was no exception. His swimming skills and confidence in the water absolutely skyrocketed. Since getting back home, even his swim instructor has noticed the difference.

New parents can probably relate when I say travelling gets way more enjoyable once you can flex a little on naps and bedtime to allow for adventure. For a week, the three of us shared a king-sized bed and Rach and I were fully living on Reece’s schedule… LOL. Honestly though, the kid has life figured out.

Typical day:
Wake up ☀️
Coffee + small breakie ☕️
Sunscreen, pack up, beach time 🏖️
Second breakie or early lunch 🍉
Pool time 💦
Snack, shower, nap 😴
More sunscreen + back to the pools
Dinner, walks, maybe a HABS game, movie/snack and early bedtime ❤️
…and repeat.

His love for buses, boats, and airplanes made every part of this trip exciting for him, and what an unreal little traveller he was. One day I’m looking forward to packing less stuff for these adventures 😂 but sincerely… core memories were made.

This was one of those recharge weeks that truly filled all of our cups. Feeling very blessed and very grateful for this little fam jam of ours.

IT’S OFFICIAL: Summer Ice Cream Nights are back! 🍦

After all the sweet memories we made last year, I had to bring this tradition back.
This year, we’re keeping the good times rolling—one event every month from June to September. It’s the perfect excuse for us to get together, catch up and enjoy a cone on me!

Keep an eye out for the schedule, launching very soon. Let’s make this summer even sweeter than the last. 👀☀️

What a special week celebrating our little guy turning 3!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make Reece’s birthday week such a memorable one. From the thoughtful cards and gifts to the messages, calls, and time spent together — we truly felt the love. The greatest gift of all was simply getting to share these moments with so many amazing people in our lives.

Rachel and I couldn’t be prouder of this little boy. We feel incredibly lucky to be his parents and even more grateful that he gets to grow up surrounded by such caring family and friends.

Granary Road Kite Festival (May 16 & 17): Head just south of the city this Saturday and Sunday for their first-ever Kite Fest. You can build your own, take flying lessons, or just watch the sky fill with colour. 🪁

Otafest 2026 (May 15 - 17): Running all weekend long (Friday to Sunday), the Telus Convention Centre is hosting Calgary’s premier anime and pop culture festival. 🌟

Calaway Park (Opening May 16): Get those season passes ready—Western Canada’s largest outdoor family amusement park is officially open for the summer starting Saturday! 🎢
