This is outrageous and I am glad that all on board were safe showing the stoic attitude typical of people of the outback. But enough is enough Rex. Last week's plane catching fire in Adelaide. One plane dropped an engine over Sydney in 2017. People of the outback deserve a safe, reliable and affordable air service - they are isolated not only in geography but access to businesses, family, friends, study etc. They especially need it to attend health appointments or treatments. We all experienced cancelled flights, bags not turning up at all, the massive prices but seriously? Bless the pilots and staff who work under such conditions but questions need to be asked here. I am glad everyone is safe. Transport to the outback is a lifeline to many. Roy Butler MP Councillor Darriea Turley AM Tom Kennedy
A Broken Hill councillor was on a home-bound flight from Sydney when one of the plane's engines stopped mid-air, in an incident that was "terrifying at every stage".
