Why Heath Ledger’s daughter wasn’t in his Will 🫣

Heath Ledger passed away at just 28. His Will, signed a few years before his daughter Matilda was born, left everything to his parents and sisters. She wasn’t mentioned at all — not because he didn’t love her, but because his Will was out of date.

Luckily, Heath’s family chose to gift his entire $20 million estate to Matilda. But legally? They didn’t have to.

Had they chosen not to, in Australia a family provision claim could have been brought by Michelle Williams on behalf of Matilda (a minor at the time) against Heath’s estate.
