🇦🇺 Minimum Wage for Australia’s Delivery Drivers.Delivery drivers and other gig-economy workers play an increasingly important role in Australia, yet many have worked without the same minimum pay protections traditionally available to employees.

Australia’s workplace relations framework is changing to provide greater protections for certain “employee-like” gig workers, including the capacity for minimum standards relating to pay and working conditions to be set through the Fair Work Commission.

For context, Australia’s National Minimum Wage is currently $26.44 per hour from 1 July 2026, although the legal entitlements applying to delivery drivers depend on their employment status and the applicable award or minimum standards.

Fair pay and reasonable working conditions should remain an important part of the discussion as Australia’s gig economy continues to grow.
