Laws You Didn't Know Existed!
ποΈ In Tasmania, it is a criminal offence to falsely claim to be an architect.
Section 19, Architects Act 1929 (TAS). Still in force. Right now.
Now, to be fair β this makes complete sense. Pretending to be a qualified architect and then designing structures people are going to live or work in is genuinely dangerous.
What we enjoy about this law is the specificity. Not a doctor. Not a lawyer. Not an engineer.
Tasmania looked at the professions and said: architects. That's the one we're putting in the criminal legislation. π€·
We appreciate the commitment. ποΈ
