As Kempton Park is the seat of the Regional Court for the areas of Kempton Park, Tembisa, Benoni, Daveyton and Boksburg, we can specifically assist with divorce matters which can now be done in the Regional Court Kempton Park. Although we are a small firm, we strive to attend to both client's and correspondent's needs diligently. Experience includes general litigation (High Court and Magistrate's Court), divorces (High Court and Regional Magistrate's Court), maintenance and family matters, ANC, estates and estate planning and collection of debts. Etha Smit Attorneys opened its doors on 1 February 2006, after taking over all the collection matters and correspondent litigation work of Botha Massyn and Thobejane. Before that, Etha Smit worked at Botha Massyn & Thobejane and gained experience over a period of more than 20 years

Do you really need 6 different types of “will”?

There’s only one that our law actually recognises - your personal Last Will and Testament. Everything else (offshore will, digital will, business will, ethical will, living will) is useful… but none of them replace the real thing.

One will to rule them all. Make sure yours is done properly.

Many tenants (and landlords) are certain the Consumer Protection Act covers every residential lease. A recent Supreme Court of Appeal decision shows why that assumption can be wrong and why a validly cancelled lease still doesn’t give the landlord the right to tell the tenant to leave simply.

Two separate questions. Two different legal tests. Get either one wrong, and you could end up in expensive trouble.
