Q1 of 2026 has served as a clear reminder of a principle we hold firmly: in a legal environment of growing complexity, clarity is not a luxury, but a necessity.
Over the past quarter, South Africa’s legal and regulatory landscape has continued to evolve, from the implications of the 2026 Budget Speech to ongoing pressure points in property and commercial transactions. In such an environment, clients do not merely require advice. They require perspective, sound judgement, and the confidence that comes from steady, capable guidance.
At SL Law, we have remained focused on precisely that.
During the first quarter, our teams have:
- advised clients on the implications of the 2026 Budget Speech for tax planning, structuring, and future transactions;
- continued the rollout of DealSight, our conveyancing supervision service designed to bring greater visibility, reassurance, and calm to the property process;
- invested in future legal talent through our participation in the Stellenbosch University Faculty of Law Career Day; and
- continued to support clients across corporate and commercial, real estate, tax, and dispute resolution matters.
What unites this work is a simple conviction: legal expertise should never add to complexity. It should bring order to it. It should help clients move forward with confidence, with clarity, and with trust in the process.
That remains our focus for the year ahead.
