Downtown Wilmington has so much history built into it. As one of the oldest cities in North Carolina, the downtown area played a major role as a port city dating back to the 1700s, and so much of that history can still be seen today through the preserved architecture and historic landmarks throughout the area. The Burgin-Wright House was built in 1770 and is one of the oldest homes in Wilmington and has remained a part of the city through generations of change. Walking through downtown, you can still see pieces of Wilmington’s past woven in everyday life, which is part of what makes this city so unique!

The Wrightsville Beach Farmers Market is here every Monday from 8am to 1pm. Great local vendors, fresh food, and one of my favorite community spots around this time of year.
