We are excited to announce that Alex King has officially joined Moyers Martin as an Associate Attorney!

Alex first joined us as a law clerk, where she quickly impressed the team with her legal ability, professionalism, and strong work ethic. A recent graduate of The University of Tulsa College of Law, she successfully passed the bar exam with a score qualifying her to practice in any UBE jurisdiction.

Her practice will focus on civil litigation, oil and gas, and contract law, and we are thrilled to welcome her into this next chapter of her legal career.

Meet Terry M. Kollmorgen:

Terry M. Kollmorgen has been practicing law for more than thirty years, most of which have been as a Martindale-Hubbell AV® Preeminent rated attorney. Mr. Kollmorgen joined Moyers Martin, LLP upon his graduation from law school in 1989 and became a partner of the firm in 1994.

Mr. Kollmorgen has been appointed to serve as General Counsel for Oral Roberts University.

In addition, Mr. Kollmorgen’s practice encompasses a wide array of civil matters, with particular emphasis on labor and employment, education, defense of housing authorities, commercial transactions as well as corporate and general business matters. Throughout his career, Mr. Kollmorgen has successfully represented and defended corporations, employers and individuals in litigation and administrative proceedings in multiple jurisdictions throughout the United States. Mr. Kollmorgen’s clients span the spectrum of economic activities and business endeavors including banks and financial institutions; educational institutions; insurance companies; retail industry; pharmaceutical and health-care; manufacturing and distributing; oil, gas, nuclear, and power generating companies; radio, television, media publication and telecommunications; food/beverage companies and restaurants; municipal entities; public trusts; charitable organizations; and professional service enterprises. Meet Patty Dennis:

Patty Dennis is a Paralegal at Moyers Martin and has been at the firm since 2016, supporting R. Scott Savage and the late D. Faith Orlowski. She entered the legal field in 1992 after receiving an Associates Degree at Tulsa Community College.

Patty has a demonstrated history of working on complex legal issues. She is also highly skilled in investigative work, trial management and graphic demonstratives. While she is a well-rounded legal professional, her focus has been on litigation, oil and gas title opinions, probate and estate planning.

Patty grew up in Tulsa and has a strong love of community. She has been a Girl Scout leader for 25 years (and counting!), mentoring girls and young women to be productive, empathetic and strong leaders in our society.

Meet Brandi Detherage:

Brandi Detherage is a paralegal and bookkeeper at Moyers Martin, LLP. Brandi attended Tulsa Community College where she graduated with honors and obtained her Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies. Brandi was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and Student Association of Paralegal and Legal Assistants. Brandi has been with Moyers Martin since 2012.

Meet James H. Ferris:

James (Jim) H. Ferris is located in both the Tulsa and Bixby offices and has been in active practice for over forty years. Mr. Ferris graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Oklahoma and then went to Tulsa College of Law in 1974 where he began specializing in efficient, cost-effective and creative solutions to complex legal issues.

Some of Mr. Ferris' representative work includes:

- Planning and documentation of numerous commercial and residential subdivisions.

- Transaction documentation for acquisition and sale of dozens of businesses, from donut shops to two-hundred-million-dollar national companies.

- Assisted with multi-state expansion of building products company.

- Represented national engineering company with numerous multi-million dollar acquisitions.

- Represented oil and gas companies in large producing and exploration prospect sales and acquisitions.

- Represented mid-stream energy company in two-hundred-million-dollar sale of pipelines and derivative product plants.

- Organized hundreds of business entities in diverse product and service areas.

- Provided estate planning and implementation for hundreds of clients, on estates from simple to complex.

Meet Patrick D. O'Connor:

Patrick D. O’Connor is an experienced trial attorney with extensive experience in complex business litigation. He has successfully represented clients in state and federal courts and arbitrations in business and contract cases, construction litigation, oil and gas disputes, employment, tort, professional negligence and insurance defense.

In addition to his litigation experience, Mr. O’Connor regularly advises business clients on issues involving entity formation, business and real estate acquisitions and estate planning. Patrick is also active in the Tulsa community having served as a past President of both the Tulsa County Bar Association and the Tulsa County Bar Foundation. He has also served as an Adjunct Settlement Judge for the Tulsa County District Court since 2001.

Meet Steven A. Stecher:

Mr. Stecher has over forty years’ experience representing local, regional, and national clients. His practice includes real estate, finance, banking, commercial, probate, and trust law. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Finance and Accounting degree and got his J.D., from the University of Texas at Austin 1973. His professional affiliations include the, Oklahoma Bar Association, Tulsa County Bar Association, and Tulsa Title and Probate Lawyers.

Meet Michael E. Esmond:

Michael Esmond is an experienced trial attorney whose commercial litigation practice is concentrated in the areas of complex business tort and contract cases, and disputes involving commercial leases, construction projects, insurance coverage and fiduciary obligations. His experience covers all aspects of civil litigation — from initial investigations and pleading stages to appeals. He has successfully represented businesses and their owners, commercial landlords, homebuilders, trust beneficiaries, and charitable organizations in numerous cases in state and federal courts, administrative agency hearings, and arbitrations. Mike also serves as local counsel to national or out-of-state companies in civil lawsuits. His achievements as a trial lawyer have been recognized by his receipt of the Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating and his inclusion in Oklahoma Super Lawyers for business litigation.

Mike is also active in the Tulsa Community. He has been a leader of the Tulsa County Bar Association as a member of the Executive Committee and has served on the Tulsa County Bar Foundation’s Board of Trustees. He is a graduate of Leadership Tulsa (Class 39) and has served on the boards of several other non-profit organizations, including the Mental Health Association of Oklahoma and the Tulsa SPCA.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Esmond was an officer in the United States Air Force from 1995 to 2000. In law school, he was valedictorian of his graduating class, served as Managing Editor of the Tulsa Law Review and was awarded the Order of the Curule Chair, the Sellers and Bryant Oil & Gas Award, the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Medal of Excellence, and CALI Awards for Civil Procedure I; Civil Procedure II; Evidence; Legal Reasoning, Authorities & Writing I; Basic Oil & Gas; Legal Drafting; and Bankruptcy.
