Back-to-school season is here! 🚌
A little refresher on when to stop for school buses is always good information to share (because nobody wants to learn this lesson the hard way). 🛑
Stop Here, Stop There, School Buses Everywhere!
When the buses yellow lights flash with a blink-blink-blink,
SLOW YOUR ROLL, give yourself time to think.
They’re not disco lights. They’re not there for show.
They’re saying, quite clearly, It’s time to go SLOW.”
Then RED lights flash? Well, look at that!
That means DO. NOT. PASS. How hard is that?
Don’t scoot, don’t sneak, don’t “just make it through”
THE BUS IS STOPPING AND SO SHOULD YOU.
“But I’m LATE!” you may holler, you may fuss, you may cry.
The law still says no, you’re not flying by.
No Zippity-Zooms, no Whizzity-Whees!
Slow your grown-up caboose to the legal degree.
And when there’s a school bus, remember the rules!
CHILDREN MAY BE NEARBY, so don’t drive like fools!
Not a Who, not a Thing, not a cone in your way,
But tiny little humans who may dart in and out from the bus any which way.
They may ziggity-zag, they may zoomity-zoom,
Just remember to take it slow and give your car, bus, and the kids enough room!
SLOW DOWN, SLOW DOWN, when the school lights abound!
Watch for the buses and kids all around.
Pedestrians too, they may zippity-zay,
So keep both your eyeballs pointed their way.
STAY ALERT. LOOK AROUND. DON’T ZOOMITY-FOOL.
And whatever you do, STAY LAWFUL!
