The reporter's fee is the part of a depo that shows up on a quote. It's rarely the biggest cost.

In-person stacks on hotels for out-of-state opposing counsel, conference room rental, attorney travel hours at full rate, parking, meals, and the half-day buffer your calendar takes when you can't double-book around a deposition.

Remote eliminates most of that. The transcript is still certified, and nobody's booking flights.

When does remote not work? Adverse witnesses where credibility matters most still want a room. So do exhibit-heavy depositions and witnesses with sketchy internet. But for out-of-state defense, scattered parties, or a trial date that won't accommodate a travel day, remote is what lets you plan.

When your firm is fronting trial costs, the choice between formats isn't just logistics. It belongs in the budget conversation.

Court reporting depos aren't quoted as one flat number. Final cost depends on how long the witness goes, page count, whether you need expedite or video, whether exhibits come into play. So our rate sheet lays out the components — hourly reporter rate, per-page transcript rate, expedite ladder, add-ons priced individually — and you can build your own estimate.

We're hiring AAERT-certified transcribers.

Vernon handles a lot of certified transcription for the WA legal community. Court audio for appeals, recorded interviews for federal investigations, IME and EUO recordings, depositions of recordings, anything else that needs to hold up in court. We need transcribers who can produce work at that standard.
