ANOTHER NOT GUILTY!

Today another client was granted an acquittal after the State rested their case. The client was charged with the felony of unlawful use of a weapon and could have been sentenced to 4 years in prison if he had been convicted. NOT GUILTY!

Today at trial on a felony charge of Tampering, the court acquitted our client after we asked the court to dismiss the case when the State had rested. The motion was granted and our client walked out of court a free man.

This motion was granted due to an intense cross examination of the State's star witness where the witness was forced to make admissions under oath that completely undermined the State's case.

CASE DISMISSED!

We convinced the State to dismiss a felony drug case after examining the video of a traffic stop and showing the prosecutor that the search of the client was illegal. The prosecutor agreed that the State would likely lose a motion to suppress so they dismissed the case against our client. The client was facing up to 7 years in prison.

It is important not only to exercise your right to remain silent when being questioned by law enforcement, it is also important to never consent to being searched. If an officer is requesting permission to search you, it means they have no legal cause to search you without your consent. Always refuse to give consent to any request to search your person, car, or residence.

Missouri's Hands Free Driving Law goes into effect on January 1

"With very few exceptions, anything that involves typing, scrolling, holding, or supporting a device while driving is off-limits. In addition, the law prohibits watching movies/videos as well as recording, posting, sending, or broadcasting videos, even if the phone is securely mounted."
