Bald River Falls near Tellico Plains drops about 90 feet beside Tellico River Road, making it one of Tennessee’s easiest big waterfalls to enjoy. Nearby Baby Falls tumbles through a rocky stretch of the Tellico River and can be reached from its roadside day-use area. Ozone Falls plunges 110 feet over sandstone near Crab Orchard; scenes from Disney’s 1994 “The Jungle Book” were filmed here. At Rock Island State Park, horseshoe-shaped Great Falls changes with water releases from Great Falls Dam, while Twin Falls pours from openings in the limestone bluff into the Caney Fork River. The Sinks sits beside Little River Road in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, where rushing water funnels through a rocky gorge created after loggers blasted a river bend with dynamite. Fall Creek Falls drops 256 feet into a deep gorge and can be viewed from an overlook. Cane Creek Twin Falls, also in the Smokies, is a small twin cascade visible from a roadside pull-off.
