Ever found your photo or video reposted on a page that isn't yours? Copyright protection starts the moment you create it. Registration makes it easier to enforce.

Copyright, trademark, patent, NDA: here's what each one protects and how to put it to work.

Creative ideas are on display all around us—they may include the process that fuels a business’ growth and development, the idea positioning a marketing campaign, a piece of art, or the concept behind a YouTuber’s brand. Creative ideas are also known as intellectual property (IP)—anything in...

Made a to say what you wouldn't on main?

There's still a paper trail leading back to you. 🧾

When a post crosses into defamation or harassment, a court orders the platform to hand that trail over.

Post from a burner the way you'd post under your own name.

Got a one-star review that made your stomach drop? If it's the reviewer's honest opinion, the law protects it.

If it states something false as fact, you have options, from a cease-and-desist letter to a defamation claim.

Here's how to tell which one you're dealing with 👇

Product or service reviews are common occurrences when operating a business. Consumers express their opinions of a product or service in writing on sites like Yelp, Angie’s List, TripAdvisor, Ripoff Report, or social media. These reviews provide feedback to suppliers and give other consumers real ...

You post a photo, and a week later it's on a stranger's page with their name on it. Or someone posts lies about you, and your business feels it. Instagram problems have legal answers: takedown notices, cease and desist letters, and court when needed. Here's how they work.

"Just block them" works until they come back from a new account, then show up in your DMs, then message your boss. Before you block or delete anything, save the screenshots, links, usernames, and dates, unedited. Here's where trolling ends and harassment starts under Arizona law:

Escalate Beyond the Mute Button Online abuse can quickly escalate from annoying posts and messages to serious disruption of your personal and professional life. Cyber harassment may involve repeated, targeted conduct that crosses legal boundaries. Understanding the pattern can help you recognize whe...

We've all watched a friend reply to a viral post and regret it by morning. Section 230 covers what other people post on your page. It doesn't cover your reply. Once you add your own take, that's your statement, with your name on it. Read it like a stranger would before you hit send.

Everyone knows someone this has happened to. A fake review on their small business. A post that spreads a lie about them faster than they can respond.

First thing to know: not every mean post is defamation. Truth and opinion are protected speech. False statements of fact that damage someone's reputation are not.

When it's the real thing, there's a path:

→ Screenshot everything: the post, the date, the URL.
→ Report it to the platform. Platforms set their own rules for what comes down.
→ Reach out to the person who posted it, and keep a record of every message.
→ When that goes nowhere, a lawyer takes it further with demand letters, lawsuits, and requests for court orders to remove content while the case proceeds.

We broke down every step, including what's required to prove defamation under Arizona law.

In today’s digital world, defamatory content can spread quickly online, affecting both personal and professional reputations. False statements on social media, blogs, or review sites can create stress and uncertainty. If you are dealing with online defamation, understanding your options under Ariz...

There's an Are We Dating the Same Guy group for almost every major U.S. city, with millions of members between them. A post about you reaches the whole group, then keeps traveling as screenshots in group chats.

Here's what most people get wrong: a post you hate isn't automatically defamation. "Worst date of my life" is an opinion, and opinions aren't defamation.

A false statement of fact that identifies you is different. That's where defamation starts, and it comes with a clock. Every state sets its own deadline, and most run short.

If it's false and it's about you:
→ Screenshot everything.
→ Report it to the moderators.
→ Talk to a defamation attorney before the deadline passes.

Tag a friend who should know the difference, or send this privately to the one who needs it today.
