I had so many takeaways, especially after the panel session "From Counsel to Catalyst" which focused on board sponsorship and influence:

➡️ Know how to talk to non-lawyers. Board directors want people who can talk to/like executives, not attorneys.
➡️ Pivot from being "well liked" to "well positioned"
➡️ Board members vs sponsors: know the difference and build your sponsor and mentors bench.
➡️ In a crisis, help the board see options that position them best, not just the defensive play

Shoutout to panelist Jan Kang, Legal and People Ops Lead at Taara Connect and founder of the Women GC Network. A true powerhouse!
