Okay, let’s talk about multigenerational living — because there’s the idea… and then there’s the reality.
More families are choosing to live together right now — not because they have to, but because it can actually be a really smart move financially and relationally. But it’s not as simple as “let’s just buy a bigger house.”

It works best when everyone has their own space
→ Separate entrances, bathrooms, or even a casita/ADU can make a huge difference
Money conversations need to be crystal clear
→ Who’s contributing what? Who owns what? What happens later?
It can strengthen families… or create tension
→ The difference usually comes down to boundaries and communication
The right layout matters more than the square footage
→ I’ve seen smaller homes work beautifully because they were designed well

→ What’s the long-term plan if life changes?
Done right, this setup can build wealth, create support systems, and bring families closer.
Done without a plan… it can get messy fast.
