KM wholeheartedly welcomes Ruth Madrigal to the firm! Ruth is a nationally recognized advisor on tax-exempt organizations and is joining the firm’s Tax practice and Tax-Exempt Organizations group!

Ruth brings extensive experience from both government service and private practice, advising a broad range of exempt organizations and governmental entities as well as companies and individuals seeking to further the public good. She joins the firm from KPMG’s Washington National Tax practice, where she led the Exempt Organizations Group. She’s also worked in the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Tax Policy, where she advised on all matters affecting the nonprofit sector and promoted Treasury guidance projects. We’re happy to have her join us!

One of our most favorite days of the year is when we get to host clients at the annual KM golf tournament at Thanksgiving Point Golf Club! We enjoyed dreamy weather and a delightful time on the course with lots of delicious treats and fun goodies from TravisMathew Apparel. Thank you to all who came out to golf!

Special shoutout to our friends at Swig, Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee, The Meating Place Charcuterie, and Miss Essie's Southern BBQ for making the day so delicious!

KM attorney Kira Dale recently placed first in the women’s on-foot division and third overall in the 159.1-mile Boise Trails Challenge, finishing in just under five days!

At KM, summer sports leagues don’t stop at just softball! Our attorneys and staff also took to the bowling lanes for some friendly competition in the Utah Lawyers Summer Bowling League, and earned the team, One Ball That’s All, the much-coveted title of “runner-up to the worst team.” What a rare honor!

Each year, the league raises funds for The Road Home to support its mission of providing resources to those experiencing homelessness in Utah. We had a hoot joining judges and peers for some great games for a great cause!

Another summer softball season is in the books!

After a summer full of incredible wins and a few close games, the KM Claws made it all the way to the championship game! We had a blast playing alongside fellow SLC colleagues and can’t wait for next summer.
