Welcome, Sebastian Marzal.

Sebastian is a rising 3L at UC Davis School of Law and one of our 2026 Summer Associates. Born and raised in Lima, Peru, he moved to the United States at age 16 and later came to California for college.

Sebastian attended community college in Sacramento before transferring to UC Berkeley, where he earned his degree in Computer Science in 2022. After briefly working in tech, he decided to pursue law.

He spent his 1L summer clerking at the Sonoma County District Attorney's Office.

Welcome, Joseph Artieres.

Joe is a rising 3L at McGeorge School of Law and one of our 2026 Summer Associates. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UC Santa Cruz in 2018.

Before law school, Joe worked as a legal assistant at two Bay Area law firms, gaining exposure to tort, employment, and labor law matters. He has also worked as a summer associate in downtown Sacramento and as a part-time law clerk during school.

After his summer at Kronick, Joe will extern for Justice Laurie Earl at the Third District Court of Appeal.

Welcome, Sonia Vazquez-Kelly.

Sonia is a rising 3L at UC Berkeley School of Law and one of our 2026 Summer Associates. Raised in Vancouver, Canada, she came to California to pursue her legal career and is interested in tribal law and business law.

She earned her B.A. in Political Science from the University of British Columbia, with a minor in Law and Society, and previously spent a year teaching English in Seville, Spain.

At Berkeley Law, Sonia has served as co-President of the Native American Law Students Association and worked with the First Alaskans Institute on Native Alaskan legal issues.

Catherine is a rising 3L at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and one of our 2026 Summer Associates. Raised in Turlock, she earned her B.S. in Biochemistry with a minor in Environmental Science from Loyola Marymount University.

Catherine is interested in environmental and natural resources law, litigation, and exploring other practice areas this summer. She recently served as a judicial extern at the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

Michael is a rising 2L at UC Davis School of Law and one of our 2026 Summer Associates. At King Hall, he serves as Problem Writing Chair for the Negotiations Team and Treasurer of the Black Law Students Association.

Originally from San Diego, Michael earned his B.A. from UCLA, studied abroad in Spain, and previously held leadership roles in nonprofit and homeless services organizations. He is also the author of two traditionally published books.

Congratulations to Tamara Watson on 15 years with Kronick! 🎉

Tamara first joined Kronick in 2011 and has grown with the firm through several roles in Human Resources, learning along the way and bringing that experience to her current role as Human Resources Manager.

Tamara is known throughout the firm for how deeply she cares about each employee. She brings thoughtfulness, patience, and attention to detail to everything she does, often working long hours behind the scenes to support our people and keep things running smoothly.

She brings warmth to firm life, including hosting Kronick’s annual Sweater Weather Baking Contest and proudly representing the vegan bakers among us.

Kronick attorneys Christopher Onstott and Tanvir Kaur will be speaking at the 2026 Pacific Veterinary Conference sponsored by the California Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA).

They will present three sessions focused on employment law and HR issues affecting veterinary practices and small businesses:
-Dealing with Difficult Employees
-More HR Traps for the Unwary
-Five HR Topics Every Small Business Owner Should Know

Topics will include employee documentation, performance evaluations, meal and rest breaks, expense reimbursement, overtime, CFRA leaves, hiring, termination, and employee lawsuits.

PacVet 2026 will be held June 18–21 at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento.

Jennifer Scott and Kris Zuniga took the stage at the 2026 California Primary Care Association Financial Conference in Monterey for their session, Navigating the Hot Seat: Best Practices for OIG Investigations.

Their presentation offered practical guidance for health centers and healthcare organizations on preparing for and responding to Office of Inspector General investigations, including key risks related to False Claims Act exposure, billing practices, medical necessity disputes, upcoding, and Anti-Kickback–based claims.
