The newest armored Mercedes will be banned from purchase by USA buyers.

"In the stratosphere of ultra-high-net-worth luxury, true exclusivity is no longer defined by six-digit price tags or bespoke paint samples. It is defined by permission.

With the introduction of the 2027 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S680 Guard, the German automaker is shifting from a traditional luxury manufacturer to an elite, geopolitical gatekeeper. Money alone will no longer get you the goods; you now have to pass a background check.

According to Saša Zejnić, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Guard Communications Officer, Mercedes is implementing a strict vetting process to determine who is “worthy” of their mobile fortress. The most jarring restriction? If you live in the United States or China, you are automatically off the list.

Blacklisting two of the world’s largest superpower automotive markets highlights the shifting landscape of global security. In an era of intense trade embargoes and rising political volatility, a vehicle with classified ballistic protection is treated less like a luxury sedan and more like controlled military technology."

The Department of Defense launched a team of elite private sector businessmen tasked with handling and approving defense contractor negotiations, aimed at fixing the former “broken Pentagon bureaucracy.”
Dubbed “Deal Team Six,” the crew is tasked with creating better deals with defense companies to ensure their production of U.S. military equipment is not at the expense of the taxpayer, but that of the contractor, according to a Thursday social media video posted by Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

Hegseth claims in the video that for decades, the department allowed contractors to “double-dip” when service members needed weapons, aircraft or ships, charging the taxpayer for factory builds and again for the final product.
“Despite paying companies to make weapons faster, scheduled delays were constant and cost overruns were the norm, all while their CEOs got rich,” Hegseth says in the video.
Deal Team Six, which is folded inside the Pentagon’s Economic Defense Unit, stood up in early April after it was introduced by Hegseth in a November 2025 memorandum that referred to the unit as a way to modernize contracting and provide incentives and possible penalties to industry partners.

Hegseth has sought to revamp the defense industrial base by scrapping the Defense Acquisition System and turning it into a Warfighting Acquisition System, designated the “arsenal of freedom.” The new system is meant to speed up project timelines and increase production.

MESA, AZ — A Mesa Police Department sergeant with 18 years of service has been charged with hindering prosecution after allegedly warning a drug dealer about an impending SWAT raid, allowing the suspect to hide significant quantities of drugs and an illegal firearm.

The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has filed a Direct Complaint against Sgt. Edward Fire, 50, charging him with hindering prosecution in the first degree, a Class 5 felony, in connection with a March 10th, 2026 incident where he allegedly warned a “drinking buddy” of a Chandler Police SWAT operation targeting a Mesa apartment.

A U.S. Marine Corps staff sergeant developed an app meant to combat drunk driving for fellow service members, helping him earn the 2026 James Maguire Award for exceptional achievement in Marine aviation.
Last year, SSgt. Christian Smellie launched GY6Lift, a no-cost ride-hailing app designed to reduce impaired driving for service members, pushing it to app stores in October 2025.

Smellie, a flight equipment technician with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 251, has served in the Corps for 11 years.
Smellie told Military Times that during his time as a junior Marine in Japan, he witnessed many service members “throwing away their careers” by getting a DUI or hurting others while driving under the influence.
“I care deeply for my Marines and don’t want a silly thing like a DUI make them lose the chance to do great things,” Smellie said.

The app aims to remove excuses for drunk driving and create a responsible community. GY6Lift strictly uses volunteer drivers who operate their own vehicles.
Currently, the app has 56 passengers and 15 drivers and can be used worldwide by service members and their spouses, Smellie said.

Federal authorities arrested and charged a U.S. special forces soldier for making bets on the raid that removed Venezuela's Nicolás Maduro from office.

The soldier "bet a total of approximately $33,034" on the Maduro operation, federal authorities said. He ultimately made more than $409,000 as a result of the bets placed on the U.S. operation, an unsealed indictment alleges.

Congressman Pat Harrigan Introduces the "Special Operations Forces Concealed Carry Act" to Extend Concealed Carry Rights to Elite Military Veterans

On April 16th Congressman Pat Harrigan (NC-10) introduced the "Special Operations Forces Concealed Carry Act", legislation that extends federal concealed carry authority to both serving and veteran special operations forces whose fi****ms training and marksmanship standards match or exceed those of retired law enforcement officers.

"Federal law already trusts retired police officers to carry concealed nationwide. That makes sense. But it makes no sense that an active or retired SEAL or Green Beret, someone who spent a career mastering fi****ms under the most demanding conditions in the world, has no equivalent recognition under federal law," said Congressman Harrigan. "This bill fixes that. It does not create new rights or weaken any safeguard. It simply extends an existing, proven framework to the warriors who have earned it more than anyone."

Eligible veterans will receive permanent, nationwide concealed carry authority with no annual fi****ms requalification requirement, while remaining fully subject to all existing federal firearm restrictions. The bill covers honorably discharged servicemembers from paygrade E5-E9, W1-W5 or O1-O10 with verified service in Army Special Forces, the 75th Ranger Regiment, Delta Force, Navy SEALs, Marine Corps Scout Snipers, Reconnaissance Marines, MARSOC operators, and Air Force Combat Control, Pararescue, Special Reconnaissance, TACP, and Special Operations Weather.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested after a Molotov cocktail was thrown at the San Francisco home of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman early Friday morning.

The incident happened around 4:00 am when a suspect “threw an incendiary destructive device” at Altman’s home, “causing a fire to one exterior gate” before fleeing on foot, according to statement from the San Francisco Police Department.

The same suspect then allegedly headed to OpenAI’s offices, where he was “threatening to burn down the building,” according to the statement. SFPD said that “charges are still pending at this time.”

“One of the two crew members from the U.S. fighter jet that was shot down over Iran has been rescued, two U.S. officials have confirmed. The status of the second crew member is unknown as a search and rescue continues.
Iranian state broadcaster IRIB said earlier that an American warplane was targeted by Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps air defenses. An Iranian news agency with close ties to the country’s security services circulated photographs purporting to show wreckage of a downed jet.
Iranian state television said Iranians would be rewarded for finding any American crewmembers and turning them over alive.”
