WELLS MARBLE MOURNS THE LOSS OF FIRM MEMBER, BETTY B. ARINDER

It is with profound sadness that our firm announces the passing of our colleague and dear friend, Betty B. Arinder. Betty passed away on March 11, 2026. She was born on September 22, 1962, in Winona, Mississippi. Betty graduated cm laude from Millsaps College in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and later earned her Juris Doctor from Mississippi College School of Law in 1988.

Betty was married to the love of her life, Gary Arinder. Together they raised three wonderful children: Tori Arinder Hood (Ben), Amy Arinder Whittenton (Will), and Graham Arinder. She was also the proud grandmother of two beloved grandchildren, Liam and Jamey Whittenton. Betty was deeply devoted to her large extended family, whom she loved dearly.

Betty enjoyed a long and distinguished legal career practicing employment law and workers’ compensation defense. We are especially grateful that she spent the final 16 years of her career as a valued member of the Wells Marble team.

Betty sincerely loved her work and, more importantly, her clients and the members of the workers’ compensation community. She received many numerous professional honors and was widely respected in the legal community. However, she treasured most the time she spent with her family and loved ones. She will be deeply missed by everyone at Wells Marble and by all who had the privilege of knowing her. While we mourn her untimely passing, we also celebrate a life well lived.

For additional details, please see Betty's obituary.

WELLS MARBLE ATTORNEY, GREGG CARAWAY, "IN THE SPOTLIGHT"

Recently, one of our own attorneys, Gregg A. Caraway, showcased his non-legal talents in a performance at Duling Hall in Jackson. Together, with other artists, he participated in “The Writer’s Round-Songwriter Nights” concert. In addition to being a great attorney and firm member, Gregg is also an award-winning songwriter with cuts by various artists including Les Richardson, Summer Schappel, Zach Hacker, and Taylor Lynch. He has had songs featured in several movies and on Car Talk, Blair Garners After Midnight, and Brook’s and Dunn’s American Country Christmas.

We are so proud to know and to work with Gregg.

WELLS MARBLE PREMIERS “DECK THE CUBE” CHRISTMAS CONTEST

This year, our firm decided to make Christmas at the office a little more interesting by starting a “Deck the Cube” contest. Everyone in the office was invited to decorate their offices or work-stations. Decorating began after Thanksgiving, and outside judges came in later to choose the winners. Themes included the Grinch, the Nutcracker, traditional Christmas, Winter Wonderland, and more. All participants had so much fun and are already contemplating how to decorate even better next year.
