Madison County suffered a horrible tragedy this past week and our hearts go out to the family members of the man who took his own life in front of the family court building. Between all the economic stress and the feeling that everyday people can't get basic justice, a lot of our neighbors are fighting silent, heavy battles.
If you are struggling right now, please remember that life is made of seasons. This darkness is not permanent. It will get better.
June is both Men’s Health Month and Pride Month (I promise there is room for both). Statistically, su***de rates are significantly higher among men and also within the LGBTQ+ community.
We see national figures stoking division to secure power, even putting down the most vulnerable just to make themselves look strong. But in the real world, where we experience real consequences, we must look out for each other.
Choose to be kind. Choose to be better to one another.
It costs absolutely nothing to show someone a little “unearned” grace, check in on a friend, or listen without judgment. That simple act might just save a life. It’s human to judge, it’s divine to be kind.
Life gets very hard sometimes, but it’s not permanent and you are not alone.
