I tried À L’ouest, the new French brasserie in North Park from chef Brad Wise & TRUST Restaurant Group, and the whole experience was outstanding. The restaurant pays its respects to western France starting with the smallest details, like churned Bordier butter from Brittany, then carries that influence through the brasserie menu, wine list, and a cocktail program built around French spirits and early 20th century techniques. The menu has French classics, live fire cooking, rich sauces, and so much more. And Georgette’s 38-person speakeasy upstairs is still on my list.
