Congress may be trying to stop college sports from becoming two super conferences.
What started as concern around the SEC and Big Ten could now apply to conferences generating over $700M in sports revenue—which could pull the ACC and Big 12 into the conversation too.
After watching what happened to the Pac-12… I’ll say it:
I think this might actually be a good thing.
College sports were built on rivalries, regions, traditions, and opportunity—not just who can collect the biggest TV deal.
But maybe I’m wrong.
Should conferences be allowed to expand as much as they want and let the market decide?
Or should there be limits before college sports becomes unrecognizable?
