½ new listing post, ½ life stages narrative
When I was a young adult, I did not care much about putting a stake in actual land. I did care about collecting experiences.
My next intent was to establish foundations. A small starter home was ok, even good - small spaces foster a sweet kind of huddling. (And yes, small = less expensive.)
Following the starter, as those who are fortunate enough, there was a move up home with more space.
And now, at the threshold of an empty nest, there are reflections. What matters? What conditions foster a remembrance that life is amorphic, evolving, spectral?
I’ve also been thinking a lot about material space.
Having grown up in apartments, I find myself flirting with smaller homes in locations that will allow my current priorities to come to the forefront: being close to the energy of the city in a neighborhood fueled by community.
