Gen X is a major force in housing, making up 25% of buyers and 23% of sellers. Many buy for stability (22%) or multigenerational living (19%), reflecting complex midlife needs and strong purchasing power.

According to the 2026 Home Buyers and Sellers Generational Trends Report, buyers ages 46 to 60 (or Gen X, ) made up 25% of recent home buyers and 23% of home sellers.

SB 9 represents a critical advancement for housing in Kentucky. This comprehensive legislation is designed to expand housing supply and enhance home affordability across the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Last week, SB 9 passed the House but was not considered by the Senate before the veto recess. SB 9 remains eligible for action when the General Assembly reconvenes on April 14 and 15, so immediate outreach from constituents is essential.
