Prairie Village’s French Market is Expanding

The cafe and market in The Shops of Prairie Village, 6943 Tomahawk Road, Prairie Village, will temporarily close Aug. 24 to Aug. 26.

It will reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, when it will debut its expanded market area featuring more grab-and-go meals, specialty food, expanded cheese counter, and home goods - both vintage and new.

It also will have separate checkout lines for the market side and daytime cafe ordering.

Evening full service will remain the same.

“More room to shop, improving what we already do. In general, more efficiency. Some new offerings,” said Noah Quillec, partner in the family owned business, which includes sister restaurant Cafe Provence nearby.

French Market opened in 2013 in a different space. It moved to the larger Tomahawk space in 2019, and expanded again soon after.

This third expansion will be the final expansion, Quillec said.

It took the former Pride Cleaners spot. Pride Cleaners relocated to the east side of the center by Chipotle.
