She started her practice in January of 2019 as an Advocate for Collaborative Community Law Initiative, (CCLI). Attorney Gomez was once told that people who can’t afford attorneys call police. After 20 years of service, she became an attorney. As a po
lice officer, Kathleen Gomez worked in investigations, including juvenile, school and vulnerable adult investigations. She also served as a DWI, alcohol and drug instructor. During law school Kathleen Gomez served in the Minnesota Department of Human Services, Adult and Aging Services, earning a CALI award, as well of the Office of Inspector General. She also served with a Ramsey County Municipal Prosecutor’s office, a Wright County judge and currently volunteers with the Minnesota Duty Disabled Association. As an officer, Kathleen Gomez was unable to pick and choose her calls or who she would or would not help. As an attorney, she intends to maintain some flexibility to assist people who need legal help. Initially, she aimed to help regardless of whether the issue was in the field of elder law, administrative, housing, criminal or other legal matter, she has since realized how much time and energy it takes to work in all of these areas, and has since decided to focus on Family Law, Estate Planning and Probate.
