Student Legal Services is provided by the University of Maine Student Government Inc., and provides legal advice on a range of issues common to students. Areas that are in specialty fields will typically be referred out to other attorneys, but we strive to ensure that competent and effective assistance is found. In some cases, low-cost court representation is available at the discretion of Attorney O'Mara. Please note that only undergraduate students taking at least 6 credit hours who have paid the student activity fee for the current semester will be eligible. Assistance is still available during academic breaks, but is by appointment only. Some services can be provided via phone or e-mail consultation. Do not post anything to this page or to any advertisement from this page that may be confidential. All consultations are protected by attorney-client privilege, and are only subject to disclosure in the ways authorized under the Maine Bar rules which govern all Maine attorneys.
