Good afternoon:
This is an important information we need to know before a Hurricane:
Hurricane prep FAQs:
Q: What is covered by my homeowner's insurance?
A: Check your actual policy. Often categories of items like electronics, art, collectibles have sub-limits that probably weren’t explained to you when you purchased the policy.
Q: What are my obligations after a claim is made?
A: It’s all set forth in the fine print -- read your policy carefully, as many of the traps insurance carriers set are placed in the fine print. Again, get your ENTIRE policy, not just the declarations page, but the policy jacket and copies of all amendments and endorsements that are applicable and listed on the declarations page.
Q: What can I do now to prepare if I end up having to make a claim?
A: Take pre-loss photographs of anything that may end up sustaining damage. Don't forget ceilings and roofs if you can do so safely.
As always, feel free to send a message or email us if you have any questions.
