19 years as a lawyer. ⚖️

A few lessons learned along the way:

• Preparation beats talent.
• Your reputation matters—protect it.
• Every case doesn’t require a fight, but always be ready for one.
• Compassion and boundaries can coexist.
• Know when to speak, when to listen, and when silence is the strategy.
• Build a strong team—you can’t do everything yourself.
• Give others the guidance you wish you had.
• Keep learning. Keep evolving.
• Success changes as you do.
• Integrity will always matter.

19 years later, I’m still learning, still growing, and still grateful to do work that matters.

Here’s to the lessons behind me—and those still ahead. ⚖️

Not from the Life360 generation. Liable to missing without a trace or explanation 🤣😜

Love is still found in the quiet moments, the tenderness, the trust, and simply caring for one another. This is what “for better or worse, in sickness and in health” looks like. ❤️

A love like this is truly a blessing.

Sometimes we blame life when what we really need to examine are our choices.

The people we keep around.
The habits we refuse to change.
The boundaries we don’t set.
The places we stay too long.
The chances we’re afraid to take.
The things we keep tolerating even though they cost us our peace.

Not everything that happens to us is within our control. But how we respond, what we accept, and what we choose next often is.

A different life doesn’t always require a dramatic change. Sometimes it starts with one different choice, made consistently.

Choose what gives you peace.
Choose what helps you grow.
Choose what aligns with the person you’re becoming.

And when something isn’t working, give yourself permission to choose differently.

If you want a different life, start making different choices.

Today we secured another grant of habeas corpus, resulting in the release of our client from immigration detention in New Mexico.

Every successful habeas petition is a reminder that liberty matters, due process matters, and unlawful detention can and WILL be challenged.

Over the past year, our team has successfully fought for the release of detained immigrants in Florida, California, Texas, and now New Mexico. While every case presents unique legal and factual challenges, one principle remains constant: the fight is always worth it.

Behind every victory is a person, a family, and the restoration of hope. We are honored to stand beside our clients and continue advocating for their constitutional rights, wherever that fight takes us.

I’m baaaacckkkkk! Even the officers missed me 🥰 (at least I think so 😜).

Recently, I haven’t been to many interviews, mostly because I’ve been in court with removal cases and partly because I needed to catch my breath. Rest from work, my kids and quite frankly the USA was what I needed to get my mind right and battle ready.

Adjustment interview, CASE APPROVED ✅

Took my list of problems and laid all my burdens down on the Supervisor to get my cases moving along … after all efficiency is goal! Told him see you next week 😳😂

On this July 4, as we celebrate the 250th Anniversary of America, I am still proud to be a naturalized citizen of the United States.

I am oftentimes saddened and quite honestly grief stricken at the lack of humanity, the culture of greed (masked as capitalism), the subconscious acceptance of pedophelia that forces parents to stall their children’s curiosity and independence, and America’s unwillingness to truly acknowledge, atone and repair the generational evils whose vestiges still plague us today.

As an immigrant to this nation of immigrants, it is the naive hope, the desire for an unbastardized American dream, and the will of immigrants that continue to push this nation forward. For each new generation of immigrants to America, no matter how destitute their circumstances, is like fresh spring water pouring in to a muddy pond - untainted, hopeful, ambitious and ready to earn the right to be a citizen, like the immigrants who formed this country intended.

As it was true in biblical times and throughout American history, the stone the builder refused will always be the head corner stone.
