Himmelstein Gribben & Joseph LLP, a firm concentrating in the representation of residential and commercial tenants, tenant associations, coop shareholders and condominium owners is seeking to hire an associate attorney. Knowledge of New York City housing law and at least three years’ experience representing tenants in Housing Court strongly preferred. Employee-side union labor law experience a plus. Trial experience and Supreme Court experience (including discovery and motion practice) preferred. Position available immediately. Salary $95k - $135k, commensurate with experience, plus 10% commission on new cases generated. Benefits include full medical coverage, dental insurance, 401K with a 3% employer match after one year of employment, OMNY card, 3 weeks’ vacation increasing to 4 weeks with seniority. Partnership potential.

HG&J Welcomes Tenant Activist Cea Weaver to the Mayor’s office!!

Welcome to A New Era, Cea Weaver!

Cea is joining as Director of the Mayor’s Office to Protect Tenants. She’s been leading Housing Justice for All and the New York State Tenant Bloc, where she helped pass the Housing Stability and Tenant Protection Act of 2019, landmark legislation that closed loopholes landlords used to raise rents and push apartments out of stabilization.

Now she’ll work with us to hold landlords accountable and ensure New York City tenants are living in safe, clean homes.
