Losing a parent is hard enough. Trying to help settle an estate while grieving is something else entirely.

After my dad passed away without a will, my family had to deal with court timelines, administrative delays, and difficult decisions during one of the hardest times in our lives. That experience stayed with me, and it changed the way I think about planning for business owners.

Many small and medium-sized business owners are so busy running day-to-day operations that they never stop to think about what would happen to the business if something happened to them.

That is one reason operating agreements matter so much. They are not just startup paperwork. They can be one of the most important tools for protecting your family and planning for what comes next.
