☀️ As our 2026 Summer Associates wrapped up their time at Fenwick (for now), the Firm turned to the next group of students, those joining us in Summer 2027!

🗣️ The Recruiting Department introduced a new program, Fenwick Foundations, which invited our Summer 2027 class to spend a day in our New York or San Francisco office, built to spark curiosity and excitement about next summer. Students gathered on their respective coasts for a full slate of programs and conversations. Across both events, the focus was simple: connection.

🤝 We closed each day with a cocktail reception, transforming introductions into meaningful conversations and helping future colleagues start building their networks long before next summer. We're excited to welcome this exceptional group to Fenwick in 2027 and look forward to seeing what they'll accomplish!

This weekend, we ran the extra mile in support of equal access to justice.

A group of Fenwickians participated in the Legal Services NYC Pro Bono Fun Run, joining legal professionals from across New York to support access to critical legal services in the community.

Hosted by LSNYC’s Pro Bono Associate Advisory Board, the annual 5K brings together attorneys and legal professionals from leading law firms to celebrate the shared commitment to equal access to justice in New York City.

Today in New York, 16 of our associates and summer associates spent the day at a pro bono clinic, helping community members apply for employment authorization.

An Employment Authorization Document (EAD) is technical, high-stakes paperwork that lets someone work legally in the US, and it's thanks to our partner Co-Counsel NYC that we can sit down with our community and help them get it right.

Inclusive access has always mattered at Fenwick. So it was a joy to see our colleagues and their families spend an afternoon at Magical Bridge Playground in Mountain View during One Fenwick Week.

Magical Bridge is built so everyone can play, with accessible swings and slides, and quiet areas for sensory breaks. It is an inclusive playground we were proud to help support, right here in a community many of us call home.

A wonderful afternoon, and a good reminder of why we give back where we live and work.

What a month it's been. As Pride wraps up, we're looking back on weeks of celebration, connection, and showing up for our LGBTQI+ colleagues and community.

One highlight: Kevin Jennings, CEO of Lambda Legal, joined us to speak candidly about the protections being rolled back for LGBTQ+ people and those living with HIV. It was a powerful and important conversation that stuck with us.

So we did something about it. Our employees and the firm donated more than $15,000 to Lambda Legal to support its fight for equality and justice. We're proud of that number, and even prouder of everyone who pitched in.

We celebrated Black History Month by hosting Harvard professor and author Dr. Jarvis Givens.

In his latest book, “I’ll Make Me a World: The 100-Year Journey of Black History Month”, he marks the centennial of Black History Month and traces its origins, evolution, and future through archival research, personal narratives, and the wisdom of Black educators.

Some stories stay with you long after the conversation ends.

Fenwick recently hosted a firmwide conversation with David Weissman, reflecting on his work, impact, and decades-long ties to San Francisco. His acclaimed documentary "WE WERE HERE" captures the early years of the AIDS epidemic through deeply personal stories of care, resilience, and community, a film that continues to resonate today.

The conversation, moderated by Jennifer Stanley with opening remarks from Kate Fritz, included reflections on the pro bono work which Fenwick contributed to the film. Fenwick’s relationship with David spans more than 20 years, beginning with "The Cockettes" and continuing through IP, corporate, and distribution matters.
