Disagreements are part of the business. Disrespect should never be.

Real estate is full of pressure points: contracts, timelines, inspection issues, repairs, commissions, and emotions. You will disagree with clients, co agents, lenders, and sometimes people you care about. That is normal. Losing respect is not.

• Watch tone, facial expressions, and body language

Sometimes growth in real estate doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from letting go.

And I know it is not always as simple as “drop the client” when you have bills to pay. So let go in ways that still protect your income.

Let go of over explaining. Let go of answering non urgent texts at midnight. Let go of chasing documents that should have been submitted days ago without a clear deadline. Let go of doing everyone’s job in the transaction. Replace it with boundaries, systems, and scripts that keep you professional, paid, and at peace.

In this video, I’m breaking down a real estate situation and analyzing one big question: is this safe or is this a scam?

Real estate fraud is getting more sophisticated. The scary part is that a lot of scams do not look like scams at first. A “simple” document to sign, a rushed request to wire funds, a message that looks like it came from a familiar name, a deal that feels too easy. That’s how people lose money and sometimes even lose property.

Here’s what I want you to do today
Take five minutes and analyze your own scam risk.

Ask yourself
Do you own property that’s paid off or nearly paid off
Is your property in an estate or owned by an elderly family member
Do multiple people have access to your email
Would you recognize a fake wiring instruction
Do you have alerts set up to tell you if something gets recorded on your property

One simple step that can help: sign up for fraud alerts through the Shelby County Register of Deeds so you can be notified if something is recorded in your name or tied to your property.

If you are in Shelby County, please do that today. Share this with a neighbor, a parent, or anyone who owns property. We protect our community by staying informed and staying alert.
