We are super excited to welcome Mason Rodriguez to the Law Office of Austin R. Franco PLLC as our newest Associate Attorney.

Mason brings a wealth of courtroom experience to our team, having launched his legal career as a prosecutor in one of the busiest courthouses in Texas.

There, he handled everything from misdemeanor offenses to capital murder cases, and spent over a year in the Organized Crime Division tackling the county's most complex prosecutions. He tried numerous cases to verdict and sentencing, building trial instincts that set him apart.

Mason now channels that prosecutorial firepower into civil litigation and criminal defense, assisting in the representation of businesses and individuals in high-stakes commercial disputes, construction litigation, and criminal matters.

A Texas A&M School of Law graduate and former collegiate baseball player, Mason is the kind of tenacious, detail-oriented advocate every client deserves in their corner.

Earlier this year, our firm was engaged by a long-time client to defend him against serious felony charges that had been filed against him in Fannin County, Texas.

The client, who is a hardworking business owner and family-man, had been indicted and arrested on felony theft of property and theft of trust fund charges arising out of a new-build home construction project his company had worked on.

He was facing 2 to 10 years in state prison if convicted. While we don’t handle criminal matters often, the client wanted us to help him navigate this process, and we were honored to take that responsibility on.

From our very first discussions with the client, we knew that the State of Texas had gotten this one wrong. Not only did we believe our client had not stolen a penny, but the evidence suggested he was likely owed substantial money in the very transaction that gave rise to these charges.

We got to work immediately, conducting a full investigation of the facts, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing all of the documents the State of Texas had compiled to use against him

Our investigation confirmed what we had believed from the start. Our client had not committed a crime. After presenting this evidence and our arguments to the District Attorney's office and preparing this matter for an eventual trial, the District Attorney’s office made the right decision this morning and dropped all charges pending against our client.

We are so happy for, and thankful for, our client, who trusted us with his freedom.
