Macon has plenty of Southern hospitality. Apparently, that hospitality ends when someone spits on the sidewalk. 😅

A local ordinance prohibits spitting on any sidewalk or street. The rule was originally introduced as a public health measure to help combat tuberculosis, although it could still technically land an enthusiastic spitter with a summons today.

So, please keep your chewing to***co, dramatic movie moments and saliva away from Macon’s sidewalks. The pedestrians thank you.
