Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day.

A day to remember — but also a day to ask: what does remembrance demand from us at the present time.

Today, across the Middle East, civilians are paying the price of war, power, and ideology. From Iran to Lebanon, Iraq, and beyond, ordinary people are being caught in the crossfire — targeted, displaced, and killed as the Iranian regime and its proxy forces wage conflicts across borders and continue to operate in ways that endanger civilian lives and infrastructure.

History doesn’t repeat itself exactly — but it warns us.

Yom HaShoah is about honoring the six million Jews and all victims of the Holocaust. But it also challenges us to confront hatred, silence, and indifference wherever they exist today.

“Never again” has never been just about the past.
It’s about what we choose to see — and what we refuse to ignore.

Amid the ongoing Iranian revolution and continued massacre, deportations are placing Iranian q***r and trans individuals in extreme danger. Being returned to countries where their identities are criminalized or violently targeted can mean imprisonment, torture, or death.

Join our upcoming FREE webinar on Friday, February 5 at 5:00 PM EST/ 2 PM PST as we examine:

1. Current deportation policies affecting Iranian nationals/recent news of Trump administration actions: how deportation and asylum systems work and why Iran is considered a high-risk return country;

2. Human Rights Conditions during the ongoing revolution in Iran, general human rights concerns (political repression, detention, surveillance) and legal and social consequences for marginalized groups, including LGBTQ+;

3. LGBTQ People in Iran and the criminalization of relationships, rsks of violence, arrest, forced “confession,” and ex*****on;
