This is the story of a family LevittQuinn was honored to serve.

A stepfather had raised his wife's son since the boy was one year old. The child was now 17 — just eight months from graduation — and the family had never been able to formalize what had always been true:

This man was his father.

Both parents were immigrants, Spanish-speaking, and living on a fixed income. The legal path to adoption was more complex than anyone anticipated. LevittQuinn's team rushed the case, waived all fees, and worked alongside the family to clear every legal barrier — in time for graduation.

If someone has filed for guardianship of your child — or you are concerned they might — you do not have to face that proceeding without legal guidance.

LevittQuinn has launched a dedicated guardianship project, providing free and sliding-scale family law services to parents whose children are the subject of a guardianship proceeding in the LA County Superior Court.

Guardianship does not terminate your parental rights. And with the right legal guidance, you can participate fully in the court process — and protect your relationship with your child.

Eligibility is based in part on whether your matter is in the LA County Superior Court — not your zip code.

If you've ever assumed you don't qualify for legal services because of where you live — read this.
LevittQuinn Family Law Center does not base eligibility on your zip code.

Our services are available to qualifying families whose family law matters fall within the jurisdiction of the LA County Superior Court — regardless of where you live.

Most legal aid organizations restrict services by zip code or city. LevittQuinn does not. We also serve families earning up to 400% of the federal poverty level — nearly double the income threshold of most legal aid organizations in LA County.
