This is NOT a sales pitch. I’m not posting this to get business. I’m posting this because my heart is heavy, and I hope it encourages someone to stop putting off something so important.
Today I received a heartbreaking call from a client’s family.
For over a year, their loved one talked about getting a Living Trust but kept putting it off. Now she’s in the hospital with Stage IV cancer, and the doctors have given her very little time. Her family’s only request is that I get her trust completed as quickly as possible.
And I will.
But this is exactly why I’ve been saying for years: please stop waiting.
Especially to my Black community…we have to stop treating estate planning like it’s something we can “get around to later.” Too often, we’ll spend thousands of dollars on clothes, shoes, purses, jewelry, and other things that lose value, yet we put off protecting the very assets and loved ones we’ve worked so hard for.
This isn’t about fear. It’s about love. It’s about making sure your wishes are known, protecting your family, and giving them peace instead of confusion during one of the hardest times of their lives.
Tomorrow isn’t promised to any of us.
Please don’t wait until you’re in a hospital bed.
Please don’t wait until your family is making decisions under pressure.
Please don’t wait until it’s an emergency.
Get your affairs in order while you’re healthy, while you have options, and while you can make your own decisions.
Don’t let procrastination make decisions for your family. ❤️
